About Delmonte Crawford
How We Got Here
Since becoming a civil rights activist after the murder of Trayvon Martin, Delmonte is known for raising awareness on injustices in our local communities, raising concerns on access to resources for marginalized communities and aiding in financial literacy for the Black community. Delmonte believes that because of the grassroots movement and having boots on the ground, the seat at the table has become more accessible but not more equitable. Building a better North Carolina
For the People
Delmonte believes that Black Foundational Americans known as Freedmen should receive reparations at the State and Federal level for injustices due to Chattel Slavery. He believes that Descendants of Slavery should be federally protected and will continue to be boots on ground regarding reparations. Delmonte supports the Anti-Black American crime bill and will advocate to bring the bill to the General Assembly to debate, vote and send to the current Governors desk to sign into law. Delmonte believes that protections should be had for all children in public and charter schools and believes that the State should work with County officials to elevate the literacy rate for Black children around the state.
